Doreen Elizabeth (Lally) Vancho
63 of Stamford, passed away peacefully February 15, 2010 after a long brave battle with Cancer over the last 6 years. She was born in Greenwich on February 6, 1947 to the late Jack and Edna Lally
Doreen is survived by her husband, John, daughters, Dena E. Haight (Patrick), Bethany L. Vancho, and the love of her live, grandson Sean Patrick Haight. She is also survived by her sisters, Lynda (Richard) Norman, Jane (Nicholas) Parrett) and god-daughter Lori (Norman) Parise
She attended Greenwich Public Schools and graduated from St. Mary High School, class of l965. She graduated from Greenwich Hospital Nursing School in 1968 and continued her nursing career at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She retired from nursing to dedicate herself to become a full time Mom after her daughters were born. Later, she became a teacher at St. Paul’s Day School in Riverside, a joy she enormously loved.
Doreen’s free time found her in her garden, spending time with family and friends and weekends at the pool.
Family and Friends may call at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue in Greenwich Thursday, February 18 from 4pm – 9pm. A Celebration of life will be held at St. Agnes Church 247 Stanwich Road, Greenwich February 19, 10am
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Greenwich Hospital, Oncology Department, 5 Perryridge Road, Greenwich CT 06830
