NICOLENA SABITO, 88, a life-long resident of Greenwich, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. Nicolena was born on November 9, 1921 in Greenwich, CT to the late John and Conchetta Strazza. In addition to being a constant in her family, Nicolena served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Roch's Roman Catholic Church for many years. She spent the last six years as a resident of Nathaniel Witherell nursing home. Nicolena was predeceased by her loving husband Frederick D. Sabito in 1966 and son Frank J. Sabito in 2002. She is survived by her other son John Sabito and daughter-in-law Maria Sabito of Fairfield, CT; daughter-in-law Barbara Sabito of Greenwich; and her four grandchildren, Marissa Dawson, Dannielle Sabito, Jason Sabito and John Sabito Jr. Nicolena was also predeceased by three brothers, Charles Strazza, Jerry Strazza and Rocco Strazza; and a sister, Mary Belfatto.
Family and friends may call at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc., 134 Hamilton Ave. in Greenwich on Wednesday July 7th from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church. Internment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
